Lejacque "LJ" Martin

Lejacque Martin is entering his first season as UPIKE's defensive line coach.

Martin comes to UPIKE after serving at the same position last season at NCAA D-II Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina. In addition to his defensive line duties, Martin had a role in strength training, game planning, recruiting, scouting, run game, and special teams.

Prior to Wingate, Martin served as the defensive line coach at Madison County High School in Danielsville, Ga. While at Madison County, Martin helped lead the Red Raiders to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. Between his two coaching stops, Martin has coached five all-conference players, including two defensive linemen last year on Wingate's squad that went 10-2, the winningest in program history, and reached the NCAA D-II playoffs.

As a player, Martin helped guide Madison County to its first Georgia state playoff visit in school history before going to Sierra College in Rocklin, Calif. At Sierra College, Martin recorded 53 tackles in one season, earning a scholarship at Wingate where he finished out his career.

Lejacque is beloved by his loving family of four. Brandy, his biggest supporter, Maddlyn, Devin, and Trey.
