Peyton Franklin begins his first season as UPIKE football's strength and conditioning and tight ends coach in 2021.
Franklin begins his fourth year as a strength and conditioning coach, coming from University of Central Missouri where he worked with the wrestling, track and field, baseball, and football teams.
From Raytown, Missouri, Franklin had a Catholic upbringing as the second of six siblings and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing several sports throughout high school. After high school, Franklin went off to Northwest Missouri State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. He later went on to earn a Master's degree in Sports Management from the University of Central Missouri.
While coaching at UCM as a graduate assistant, Franklin trained the school's fourth place indoor and fourth place outdoor women's track and field team. His coaching aided the Mule's baseball team in their National Championship runner-up performance in 2021 and with the football team's 2019 conference title.
Franklin is an accomplished powerlifter and has competed in the 181, 198, and 220 pound weight classes, with a best total of 1500 pounds.
