Christine Sheridan

Christine Sheridan is in her first season as the head coach of the University of Pikeville softball team in 2015.

Sheridan comes to the Bears after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Div. I Evansville (Ind.). With the Purple Aces, Sheridan worked primarily with the infielders and provided the majority of the hitting instruction.

Prior to taking the position at Evansville in 2012, Sheridan was an assistant coach at Georgia State for three seasons. While coaching the hitting and running the team’s conditioning program, Sheridan helped GSU to three 30-win seasons and its first Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Championship.

Apart from her two stops in the collegiate ranks, Sheridan served as a hitting instructor for Champions Fast Pitch Academy in Marietta, Ga., and was a community coach for East Paulding High School in Dallas, Ga., leading them to a 2008 GHSA 5A Tournament appearance.

As a student-athlete, Sheridan played two seasons at East Carolina where she earned all-conference honors at shortstop both years and was named the 2003 Conference-USA Freshman of the Year. Her last two seasons were spent at Georgia Tech where she led the Yellow Jackets to an ACC Regular-Season and Tournament Championship in 2005 and two straight NCAA Regional appearances.

Sheridan was a First Team All-ACC selection as a junior after hitting .380 with a .485 on-base percentage and was selected to the ACC All-Tournament Team as a senior after hitting .500 over the course of five games. She was Georgia Tech’s Most Valuable Defensive Player both seasons.
