PIKEVILLE, Ky. – In one of the most important matches of its 2013 season, the University of Pikeville volleyball team hosts Rio Grande (Ohio) at 7 p.m. ET on Monday at the UPIKE Gym.

The Bears (13-13, 2-9 MSC) have been on the road for the last four matches heading into Monday's showdown with Rio Grande (8-13, 2-9 MSC).

Tied for eighth place in the Mid-South Conference standings, the Bears and RedStorm are in need of a win to help solidify their position to qualify for the MSC Tournament. Only the top eight teams in the 10-team league advance to the postseason.

Rio Grande shut out UPIKE at home on Sept. 30 as the Bears had one of their worst offensive performances of the season, hitting -.054 for the match. The RedStorm's Autumn Snider led with 12 kills, while Betsy Schramm and Alex Phillips added 11 and 10, respectively.

Four kills from Haley Esquivel led Pikeville, while Dominique Melvin collected 11 digs.
