PIPPA PASSES, Ky. – The University of Pikeville volleyball team won its fourth match in a row with ease, blanking Alice Lloyd (Ky.) 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-4) on Tuesday.
Sydney Hall and 
Taylor Watkins led the way with eight kills each, while 
Chelsea Staples led in efficiency, tallying five kills on just six swings for a .833 hitting percentage. The Bears hit .284 as a team.
Courtney Hodge started at setter, dishing out a match-high 21 assists and libero 
Dominique Melvin finished with 12 digs. Hall paced the defensive effort at the net with four blocks.
UPIKE hit 10 service aces in the match, including four from Watkins and three from Melvin. 
Haley Johnson took a season-high 28 swings to finish with seven kills, three digs and a block.
The four points scored by Alice Lloyd in the third set were the fewest by a UPIKE opponent this season.
The Bears go on the road for their next two matches, facing No. 11 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and Campbellsville (Ky.) at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
