PIKEVILLE, Ky. – On an eventful Wednesday night on the University of Pikeville campus, the 2013 volleyball season will be first in the lineup as the Bears host West Virginia Tech at 6 p.m. ET at the UPIKE Gym.

Pike TV will be on hand to show every point of the Bears and Golden Bears matchup live online and on channel 99 in the Pikeville area. Live stats are also available at the NAIA DakStats site.
Wednesday's volleyball match is part of Spirit Extravaganza on campus as UPIKE staff will be distributing numbers to reserve tickets for a special What's Up Wednesday dinner at the gym at 5:30 p.m.

Between sets, dinner tickets will be distributed to the first 100 students with numbers. After the match, fans will travel to the plaza on the hill to gather for a pep rally. The band, cheerleaders and dance team are scheduled to perform, as well as President James Hurley and football coaches addressing the crowd.

Another special opportunity is the student fan bus heading to Morehead State on Thursday. The first 57 students at the volleyball match or pep rally to sign up with a student ID receive a free football ticket and free seat and meal on the bus.

The volleyball match is set up to be a battle. Last season UPIKE and West Virginia Tech split, with each earning a win on their opponent's floor. Seven new faces will be on the court for the Bears as they join eight returners to try and improve on last season's record.
