PIKEVILLE, Ky. – It's been over a month since we last saw it, but the best time of the year for University of Pikeville basketball is back as Mid-South Conference play resumes Thursday night at Bluefield (Va.). The women start things off at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.
The games are being
streamed live by Pike TV and can also be heard on
Z-Rock 107.5 FM in Pikeville. Updates will also be posted on Twitter
@UPIKEAthletics.
Both UPIKE teams are coming off wins. The women topped Virginia Intermont 72-68 on Monday behind 19 points from
Callisha Johnson, while the men used a season-high 31 points from
Bruce Reed to rout Tennessee Temple 123-74.
Kelly Wells' group has scored over 100 points in its last four games, bringing its season-scoring average over 100 for the first time this season.
Bluefield is 5-5 overall and 0-2 in MSC play on the women's side, while the Ram men are 6-2 with a 1-1 mark in league play. The lone win came by a single point at Campbellsville (Ky.) back in November.Â
