Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville volleyball team lost a Mid-South Conference matchup with Cumberlands 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, dropping sets by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-16 at UPIKE Gym.
Cumberlands (10-4, 2-1 MSC) outhit the Bears (7-5, 0-3 MSC) .293 to .160, including a match-high .391 hitting mark in the third set. UPIKE managed to hit its best at .189 in the second set when it nearly stole a set from the Patriots.
Sydney Hall paced UPIKE with nine kills, while
Chelsea Staples pitched in with seven and
Haley Esquivel added six.
Caitlynn Pfaadt found 24 digs, Hall had four total blocks and setter
Sydney Morris dished out 25 assists.
Cumberlands was led by Sydney Beck with nine kills and Stacey Sebald with eight, while Morgan Schlatter dealt 30 assists and Beck also led the team with 21 digs.
The Bears return to action at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, hosting Campbellsville at UPIKE Gym.
