Volleyball Falls at No. 12 Lindsey Wilson 3-0

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Sophia Riviere and Nadelina Neshiva tallied 12 and 11 kills, respectively, to lead No. 12 Lindsey Wilson past the University of Pikeville volleyball team 3-0 on Monday night at the Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders were efficient in their attack, posting a .446 hitting percentage on their way to set wins of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-14. Hitting just .054 as a team, the Bears were paced by Sydney Hall and Haley Esquivel with six kills each, but did finish with six aces compared to just two for Lindsey Wilson.

But the aces weren't enough to overcome a dominant performance from the LWC blockers. Led by Nesheva and Catie Cline with five blocks each, the Blue Raiders posted a 19-5 advantage at the net. UPIKE also trailed in total digs 36-24 as Kirsten King found 11 for LWC and Caitlyn Tino added 10.

UPIKE's statistical leaders were Sydney Morris with 20 assists, Rachel Murphy and Audri Ray with two aces each, Caitlynn Pfaadt picking up seven digs and Hall adding a pair of blocks.

The 19 total blocks sent back by the Blue Raiders were the most for a UPIKE opponent this season, topping 12 when the Bears traveled to Georgetown on Sept. 11.

UPIKE gets back on the court at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday at Midway in Midway, Ky.
