Men’s Soccer Loses on the Road at No. 18 Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville claimed its first Mid-South Conference Regular-Season Championship in program history with a 13-0 win over the University of Pikeville men's soccer team on Monday night.

Ryan Foster gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the second minute of action and they never looked back, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime before adding nine more scores in the final 45 minutes.

Lindsey Wilson had won or shared the MSC Championship in 11 of the past 13 seasons, but Campbellsville paved its way into the record books with a 3-0 win over the Blue Raiders in October.

On Monday night, Campbellsville outshot UPIKE 38-4, including a 22-3 lead in shots put on goal. The large amount of attempts led to UPIKE keeper Tait Torstensen having to make nine saves, while Josh Hollis collected all three saves for the Tigers in 45 minutes of action.

Hayden McLeod and Exon Menjivar fired two shots each for the Bears and Marco Galeano led all players with six shots for the Tigers. Galeano was the leading goal scorer with four while also adding an assist. Nine other Tigers pitched in with a goal each.

Next up for the Bears is the Mid-South Conference Championship where they are set to face Campbellsville again in the first round at Noon ET at Lovers Lane Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
