PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The action is sure to heat up inside the East Ky. Expo Center at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday as the top-ranked University of Pikeville men's basketball team hosts Cumberlands in its Mid-South Conference home opener.

The Bears are 8-4 against the Patriots over the last five seasons, but will be looking for some redemption after losing in the most recent outing in the semifinals of last season's MSC Championship.

UPIKE will also be putting its nation's best home winning streak on the line as it hasn't lost in the expo center in 48 straight contests.

Cumberlands will be its toughest competition yet at home. Despite sporting a 6-3 record, the Patriots are allowing less than 70 points per game for their opponents. UPIKE, which has the nation's third best offense at over 105 points per game, will be an interesting matchup.
