CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville men's tennis team could muster just one win in an 8-1 loss at No. 20 Campbellsville on Monday afternoon at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
Fifth-seeded Pawel Tarasewicz was a 6-2, 6-3 winner for UPIKE over Parker Jones, but the other eight matches went to the Tigers.
Campbellsville started off with a 3-0 lead after doubles play as its only competition came at the No. 2 seed where Sebastian Marot and Zach Baulch inched past Francois Billet and Tarasewicz 9-8.
All of the singles matches, including Tarasewicz's win, were lopsided as the nest closest attempt for a Bear came at the top and bottom seeds. No. 1 Billet dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Alejandro Soriano and sixth-seeded Nico Rodenbusch lost by the same score to Johan Fuzellier.
UPIKE is back on the courts at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, hosting IU-Southeast at the Bob Amos Tennis Complex.
