CAMPBELLSVILLE , Ky. -- After stranding 11 runners on base in the opener and giving up one big inning in the nightcap, the University of Pikeville baseball team took two losses at No. 14 Campbellsville on Friday, falling 12-3 and 5-1 in a Mid-South Conference doubleheader.

UPIKE (15-26, 0-19 MSC) and Campbellsville (27-9, 15-4 MSC) are scheduled to play the final game of the weekend series at Noon ET on Saturday.

The Bears outhit the Tigers 14-13 in game one, including three of the four extra-base hits in the contest, but Campbellsville came through when it needed it, leading the game in RBIs 11-3.

It was a scoreless game heading into the bottom of the fourth inning in game two when the Tigers erupted for five runs, including a two-out, two-run blast from first baseman Alex Kline. While Campbellsville wouldn't score again, UPIKE could only muster a single run in the top of the fifth on catcher Cody Chagnon's RBI single.

 Pikeville's losing pitchers were Dalton Dahley in the opener, allowing seven runs on nine hits with three strikeouts in six innings and Josh Bailey in game two after he scattered seven hits for five runs in 3 2/3 frames. Jake Pannunzio and Nick Morehead earned wins for the Tigers.

Bailey led the Bears at the plate in the opener, going 3 for 5 with a double and RBI, while first baseman Nicolas Gonzales had the most hits in game two, going 2 for 4. Kline's home run was the only extra-base hit in the game.
