PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Aleksi Pahkasalo netted six goals and dished out a program-record five assists for sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson in a 14-0 win over the University of Pikeville men's soccer team on Tuesday night at the Bob Amos Complex.
Lindsey Wilson (9-1, 2-0 MSC), a perennial power in the NAIA, wasted no time getting on the board as Anthony Tshimpi scored the first goal in the 3rd minute. The Blue Raiders finished with seven goals by halftime before adding seven more in the final 45 minutes.
Pahkasalo was all over the field, when he wasn't bending deep shots in the back of the net, he was seemingly on the other end for the assist on everything else. Led by his 14 attempts, the Blue Raiders outshot the Bears 43-4, including a 24-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Three of UPIKE's shots came from Daniel Olaniran, including one that he put on target, but was ultimately saved by LWC keeper Yuta Nomura. Keepers Tait Torstensen and Tyler Holland split halves with Torstensen collecting seven saves and Holland scooping up three.
Lindsey Wilson also finished with leads in corner-kick chances at 3-0 and fouls 6-5.
UPIKE (1-5, 0-3 MSC) returns to action at 4 p.m. ET on Sept. 30 at Cumberland in Lebanon, Tenn.
