Women’s Bowling Perfect vs. MSC, Wins Regular-Season Title

RICHMOND, Ky. -- A fourth straight Mid-South Conference Women's Bowling Regular-Season Championship is coming to the University of Pikeville after the Bears dominated the field at the Bulldog Classic hosted by Union College over the weekend at Galaxy Lanes.

With the win, it's fifth of the season, UPIKE improves to a perfect 40-0 in head-to-head matchups with conference teams. The Bears will be the No. 1 seed at the MSC Championships on Feb. 12-14 at Southern Lanes in Bowling Green.

On Sunday, UPIKE completed five team games and 12 Baker-style games with a total pinfall of 7,212. The closest competitor in the field of 16 was Emmanuel in second place with 6,992 pins, 220 behind the Bears. Campbellsville rounded out the top three with a score of 6,706.

The dominant performance from Pikeville continued on the junior-varsity side where it took first and second place. UPIKE JV1 tallied 7,020 pins and JV2 finished with 6,346.

Karlee Evans was the lone Bear to earn all-tournament team honors bowling for the JV1 team as she finished second overall with a score of 1,015 and high game of 226. Shelby Fromm paced the varsity in sixth place with 999 pins and a high game of 227.

Emmanuel's Destiny Harper took the individual title at the Bulldog Classic with a pinfall of 1,032 and high score of 236 in her first game.
