Box Score ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Eric Bernabeu added three goals to his resume to lead the University of Pikeville men's soccer team to a 7-0 rout of Warren Wilson on the road on Saturday.
It's Bernabeu's second multiple-goal outing of the season and UPIKE's most goals scored as a team since topping Hiwassee (Tenn.) 9-1 last year.
UPIKE wasn't a one-man show though as Hayden McLeod, Logan Alexander, Brandon Lopez and Oscar Pacheco all netted one score each. Four of the goals were assisted as Alexander, Bernabeu, Nick Westerdale and Harry Hill dished them out.
The Bears outshot the Owls 28-4 overall, including a 14-1 gap in shots on goal. Bernabeu led all players with nine shots, five of which were put on target.
Jorge Meija went the distance in goal, securing a shutout while having to make just one save. Warren Wilson's Laszio Reed scooped up seven saves to go with the seven goals allowed.
The Bears improve to 4-6 overall on the season with the win, while Warren Wilson drops to 0-8.
