PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Seventh-ranked Campbellsville scored six goals in the first half, then added four more in the second to earn a 10-0 win over the University of Pikeville men's soccer team on Saturday night at the Bob Amos Complex.
The Tigers grabbed a 2-0 lead in a hurry, scoring in the first and sixth minutes. Sixteen minutes later, Gabriel DeFreitas made it 3-0 off a Ross Lindsay corner kick. Campbellsville's most impressive scoring sequence came when it scored a pair of goals in the 32nd minute.\
Campbellsville (11-0-2, 4-0-1 MSC) opened the second half with a goal from Guilherme Fanck in the opening minute of the half, then gave up a goal on a penalty kick by Nathan Heath in the 69th minute. The final two strikes of the game came from Fanck and Heath in the 78th and 81st minutes.
Fanck paced the Tigers with three goals, followed by Lucas Cury and Heath with two goals each. Fanck took a game-high six shots, putting four of the attempts on target.
UPIKE (4-10, 1-5 MSC) was outshot 27-3 for the game as Eric Bernabeu took two shots and Harry Hill had the other attempt. As far as shots on goal, the Tigers posted a 19-1 advantage.
Jorge Mejia did his best to stop the Tiger attack, collecting nine saves in goal, while Gonzalo Sapena grabbed the shutout with just one save.
