PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville softball team took a 5-3 lead into the seventh inning of game one before second-ranked Lindsey Wilson used a two-out, three-run double from Sydney Fourman to steal a 7-6 win. The Blue Raiders used that momentum to post a 9-0 win in six innings in game two while outhitting the Bears 9-3.
Lindsey Wilson moved to 22-10 overall and 7-3 in the Mid-South Conference after the series sweep, while UPIKE dropped to 7-16 overall and 1-7 in MSC play.Â

UPIKE hit three home runs to take a lead into the final inning against an NAIA top-two team, but ultimately some timely hitting from the Blue Raiders made the difference in their comeback win.
Catcher Jillian Bohnert racked up three RBIs on one swing on the bat in the third inning with a deep blast to center that turned a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead.
Lyndsey Parden ended up with the win for Lindsey Wilson, even though she gave up six runs over seven innings on six hits with six strikeouts.
In the end, it was Jenna Firestein and Sydney Fourman who made the difference, teaming up for eight hits and five RBIs.
Lindsay Floyd was charged with the loss after allowing seven runs on eight hits in seven innings with a walk and stikeout.
The Blue Raiders claimed a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but UPIKE answered right back in the second with a solo shot from Courtney Morgan.
Lindsey Wilson took the lead back with a run in the third before Bohnert's blast and an Amber Murrell RBI single made it a 5-2 Bear lead heading into the fourth inning.
Following the Blue Raiders' comeback in the top of the seventh, Holly Hinkle gave UPIKE some energy with a leadoff solo homer to get within one, but it ended up being the only hit of the frame.

Casey Bryan shut down the UPIKE bats in game two, giving up just three hits and no runs in a complete six innings. Bryan struck out six batters and walked none.
Lindsey Wilson took the lead for good in the third inning when it scored two runs on a passed ball and Firestein stealing home.
The Blue Raiders added four more runs in the top of the fifth with a Bailey Mize home run that plated Firestein and Fourman, followed by Amy Rogers' RBI single.
Alexandra Quill took the loss for UPIKE after scattering nine hits for nine runs in six innings with three strikeouts and four walks.
