CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville volleyball team made things interesting in the second and third sets at Campbellsville, but ultimately couldn't come up on the winning side in a 3-0 loss to the Tigers on Thursday night.

Campbellsville (14-7, 5-1 MSC) put together set wins of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-21 to pull off the sweep. While UPIKE rarely challenged in the opening frame, the last two were a different story.

After falling behind 20-16 in the second, the Bears rattled off four straight points to tie things up, utilizing a kill from Sydney Hall and three Campbellsville errors. The Tigers ultimately went up 21-20 and never let UPIKE tie things up again.

In the final set, UPIKE (12-7, 1-3 MSC) fell behind 20-13, but had another strong run, this time outscoring the Tigers 5-1 to get within three points. A Hall kill a few points later gave UPIKE its smallest deficit late in the set at 23-21, but the Bears failed to score again.

Hall and Cassidy Tackett paced UPIKE with 10 kills each as Tackett was extra efficient, hitting .360. Savanna Zakman handed out 27 assists, Rachel Murphy found 24 digs and four Bears has at least two blocks each.

Campbellsville's Maria Coelho finished with 11 kills and Inoe Fields tallied 35 assists to go along with four players in double figures for digs. Campbellsville outhit UPIKE just .216 to .167, but had a 7-1 lead in aces.

A pair of Bears reached personal milestones against Campbellsville as Hall passed the 1,000 kills mark and Murphy passed 1,000 digs.
