PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Seniors Max Isenberg and Harry Hill both scored goals and Eric Bernabeu added a hat trick as the University of Pikeville men's soccer team dispatched Hiwassee 8-1 on senior day at the Bob Amos Complex.
Diego Arroyo got the Tigers (5-4) on the board in the 50th minute to make it a 4-1 game just after halftime, but that was before the Bears (4-11-1) struck back in the 62nd, 68th, 69th and 73rd minutes to blow things open.
The scoring started for UPIKE in the third minute when Shawn Ramos finished a short pass from Bernabeu. Thirty minutes later the Bears added three goals in a six-minute span with the help of some costly fouls in the penalty box by Hiwassee.
Bernabeu made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute when he collected a miss by Isenberg and quickly finished it into the back of the net. Four minutes later, Isenberg was fouled in the box and he nailed the penalty kick, followed by Hill making a penalty kick a minute later after a hand ball in the penalty area.
Goalkeeper Anibal Navarro only had to collect one save in the second half to preserve the win for UPIKE, while Morgan Moser finished with four saves for Hiwassee in just over 88 minutes of action.
Shots went UPIKE's way 26-3, including a 12-2 edge in shots put on target. Bernabeu led all players with seven shots and Isenberg chipped in with five.
All of the stats were heavily in favor of the Bears, including a 6-1 edge in corner kicks and fouls against, committing just one to Hiwassee's seven.
