Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Leslie, No. 14 Men’s Basketball Cruise against OU-Lancaster

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Darrion Leslie proved that even in a game with a combined 37 turnovers, there can still be a memorable performance as he tallied the program's second triple-double in recorded history during a 103-50 blowout of Ohio-Lancaster on Saturday night.

Leslie's stat line included 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists with a steal thrown in for good measure. The senior reached the feat while taking just seven shots.

UPIKE (10-0) scored 51 points in the first half and 52 in the second. Luckily for Pikeville, Lancaster didn't have that same consistency. After trailing 51-32 at the break, Lancaster would score just 18 points the rest of the way as the Bears jumped out to leads as high as 56 points with two minutes to play.

Now at 10 straight wins, if the Bears can win one more, it will be the best start for Kelly Wells in his 12 seasons as head coach at the school.

Jayvian Delacruz and Basil Thompson led all scorers with 16 points each and Chase Parsley and Mason Blair added 12 points off the bench. All of Blair's points came in the final 8:50 of action in which he also grabbed three boards, swiped three steals and dished out two assists.

George Johnson has a nice outing of six points and five assists with no turnovers and Da'Rell Domineck flirted with a double-double by finishing with seven points and nine rebounds.

OU-Lancaster (3-5), which was outshot 57 to 31 percent from the field and was outscored 68-16 in the paint, got seven points from Brendan Snyder to lead the way.

Despite being outrebounded 56-23 and having the wide gap in shooting percentages, Lancaster only trailed by 10 at the midway point of the first half. It wasn't until a 12-3 run over the next three minutes that the Bears started to pull away.

Lancaster didn't go down without a fight though as a 6-0 run to start the second half got it within 13. But shortly thereafter, the Bears put together an 18-0 run and the rout was on. That took the lead from 15 points up to 33 and three minutes later it hit 40 on a jumper by Thompson.

Leslie reached his triple-double with 7:33 to play when he swung a pass to Blair at the top of the key for a 3-pointer that made it 86-43. A minute later UPIKE emptied the bench and let the reserves play out the rest of the win.
