BEREA, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville men's tennis team extended its winning streak to six straight matches by shutting out Brescia 9-0 and taking down Berea 6-3 in a busy day of tennis on Sunday.

Brescia failed to win a match on the neutral court as the Bears picked up three forfeit wins, then went on to win the six contested matches. After winning 8-6 and 8-2 in the top two doubles matched, the win was already wrapped up mathematically, but the teams played out singles.

Top-seeded Eric Bernabeu rolled past Jose Alcazar 6-1, 6-1 and fourth-seeded Nicolas Rodenbusch had the most lopsided score, topping Kevin Larrea 6-1, 6-0.

Berea posed a little more of a challenge as it took wins at third doubles and the bottom two singles matches. UPIKE once again got two wins back at the top two doubles spots before the top four singles seeds put things away with lopsided scores.

Bernabeu again won at No.1, beating Austin Worley 6-0, 6-1, while both Pedro Azevedo and Juan Reyes won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and 3, respectively.

Rodenbusch got his second win of the day by beating Avery Matthews 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 seed.
