Box Score 2 CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- A two-game losing streak was snapped with a pair of wins on Tuesday as the University of Pikeville baseball team went on the road to win 9-1 and 3-2 at Ohio Christian.
The Bears move to 16-10 overall, while the Trailblazers drop to 5-18 with their fifth and sixth straight losses.
Game one's win went to Aaron Hedgecock who allowed no runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Matt Peterson gave him the biggest lift at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a single and double.
UPIKE scored four runs in the top of the first inning as OCU didn't score until the sixth inning.
Max Hall stepped up on the mound to earn the win in game two, allowing two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts in six innings of work. James Brooks secured the win with a save, following up giving up a single with a double play and groundout to end the contest.
Brandon Sewell singled and later scored on Jay Vincent's sacrifice fly to get the scoring started in the first inning. It was 2-1 UPIKE in the fourth before OCU tied things up in the bottom of the sixth. The game-winning run scored on Travis Haen's groundout in the seventh to score Alec Barba from third.
