PIKEVILLE, Ky. – In both team's regular-season finales, the University of Pikeville men's tennis team was edged by Georgetown 6-3, while the women lost to the Tigers 8-1 on Friday afternoon at the Bob Amos Tennis Complex.

Prior to the matches, Macarena Acuna, Juan Reyes and Nicolas Rodenbusch were honored during a senior-day ceremony.

On the men's side, UPIKE (7-8, 1-5 MSC) started by winning one of three doubles matches as Reyes and Rodenbusch topped Georgetown's (8-13, 2-4 MSC) Ryan Simms and A.J. Berk 8-5.

The Bears' other wins came at No. 2 singles where Eric Bernabeu outlasted Tristan Nosek 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 and at third singles where Reyes got past Simms 6-4, 6-1.

In women's action, Georgetown (15-6, 2-4 MSC) posted shutout wins over UPIKE (0-11, 0-6 MSC) in every match that didn't involve Acuna. The senior grabbed her team's lone win at No. 1 singles, beating Shae Henry 6-2, 7-6 (4), and teamed with Cailee Marcum at No. 1 doubles in an 8-1 loss to Henry and Fiepke.

Georgetown won the bottom five singles matches 6-0, 6-0 and took care of No. 2 and 3 doubles by 8-0 margins.

UPIKE now looks ahead to the Mid-South Conference Championships on April 21-23 at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green.
