Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Topped by Point Park Duo, 4-0

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Point Park scored two goals in each half to top the University of Pikeville men's soccer team 4-0 on Saturday at Highmark Stadium.

UPIKE (1-4-1) was outshot 29-1 by the Pioneers (4-2), including a 16-1 mark in shots on goal. Corner kicks went Point Park's way 7-0, as did fouls at 9-7.

The steady offensive attack kept Bear goalkeeper Anibal Navarro busy as he collected 12 saves in a full 90 minutes of action. Point Park's Ryan Daniels, on the other hand, made just one save in a complete game as well.

Eric Bernebeu took the Bears' lone shot, which was put on target, but saved. Alan Ramos, who tallied two goals, led all players with seven shots.

The other two goals scored in the game came off the foot of Mitchell Roell off the bench.

Ramos' scored both came in the first half as he netted what would be the game winner in the 20th minute off a cross from Roberto Whitley. In the 37th, he took on the defense by himself for the unassisted strike.

Roell did all of his damage in a one-minute span, scoring off a cross from Giovoni Lebrun with 68:17 on the clock and again, by himself, 28 seconds later to get to the final 4-0 score.
