Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Falls at No. 16 Bryan 4-1

DAYTON, Tenn. -- No. 16 Bryan built a 3-0 lead by halftime, allowing it to hold on for a 4-1 win over the University of Pikeville men's soccer team on Wednesday.

UPIKE (0-2), playing in its first match since Aug. 25 due to weather cancelations, was outshot 21-2 overall and 10-1 in shots put on goal. In the three-score first half for the Lions (3-2), the Bears weren't able to get off any attempts, trailing 12-0 in shots.

It wasn't until the 66th minute when UPIKE was able to tally its first goal of the season as Max Isenberg finished off an unassisted goal to make it a 3-1 game. But nearly 20 minutes later the deficit was still two goals when Bryan's Angel Santiago added to the lead with a shot off of a corner kick.

The Lions' game winner came in the 17th minute when Lewis Perkins made it 1-0 after a ball ricocheted off a teammate's back and onto his feet for the short chip in. Second and third goals came in the 23rd and 41st minutes to get to the 3-0 halftime score.

Isenberg was responsible for UPIKE's lone goal and also took care of all the offensive opportunities by taking both shots. Goalkeeper Anibal Navarro finished with six saves and all four goals allowed after playing all 90 minutes in goal.
