KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Pikeville women's tennis team and Shawnee State (Ohio) met up for a neutral site match at the Tennessee Tennis Club & Academy on Saturday afternoon in which UPIKE won easily, 4-0.
With the teams' Mid-South Conference regular-season match already settled, they met up again for a non-conference matchup this time around.
Due to time constraints at the facility, only two doubles matches and two singles matches were completed.
UPIKE opened up with a 2-0 lead as Samantha Fraser and Madison Daniels got past Shelby Hay and Caleigh O'Neal 8-3 at the top seed, while second-seeded Camila Agudelo and Andrea Hurtado topped Jillian Kelly and Caitlyn McKell 8-2.
The two singles' wins to seal the match were recorded by Agudelo over McKell at the fourth seed, 8-0, and Cailee Marcum topping Leen Heresh 8-0 at the No. 5 seed.
With the win, UPIKE moves to 8-5 on the season while Shawnee State drops to 2-15.
