1/29/2019 6:14:00 PM

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- After two good wins and a near upset, more coaches have taken notice of UPIKE women's basketball.

The Bears picked up 12 more points in the latest Coaches Poll, released Tuesday, going from 5 points to 17. That moves Pikeville up to the No. 29 slot, 41 points back from No. 25 Arizona Christian.

UPIKE sits at 15-8 overall, and 4-3 in Mid-South Conference play. All three of UPIKE's losses are to the three currently ranked MSC teams, No. 4 Campbellsville, No. 10 Shawnee State, and No. 20 Lindsey Wilson.

Pikeville will get two solid opportunities to make road statements this week, at Cumberlands (Ky.) on Thursday and at Life on Saturday. UPIKE's contest against the Patriots is set to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in Williamsburg.
