PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville closed out the UPike Tipoff Classic with a 103-70 win over Florida National on Saturday afternoon at the UPike Gym.

The lead reached double digits for the first time with 4:02 to play when senior Elizabeth Latham scored inside to make it 17-7, closing out six straight for the Bears.
A basket by senior Yurleis Estrada with 54 seconds left pushed the lead to 14 (29-15). In the second period, the Bears used a 7-0 run to double up the Conquistadores at 38-19 when senior Mia Greatrex sank a free throw.
The edge was 46-26 at the half.
The Bears continued stretching the advantage, reaching 33 (98-65) for the first time on a layup by Englert with 1:27 left in the game.
Englert was followed by Feltner with 16 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Hailey Free sank three three-point shots in only four attempts to finish with a career-high 14 points. Estrada tossed in 13 while Odia and Greatrex chipped in with 10 markers apiece.
Florida National (1-2) was led by junior guard Adria Stewart, who nailed six of her team's eight three-point shots to pace all scorers with 28. Senior Shannon Roseensteel followed with 10 points and a game-best nine rebounds.
The Bears are back in action next weekend in the Appalachian Wireless Classic. They meet Milligan College on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. Florida National will visit another Mid-South Conference school when it plays Lindsey Wilson College on Monday.
