INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – UPIKE men's bowling rounded out the Mid-South Conference section of the regular season over the weekend at the Indianapolis Collegiate Classic.
The Bears finished sixth at the event with a total pinfall of 9,149. With the result, Pikeville finished the season at 61-9 for second place in the regular season.
Pikeville was led individually by Alex Hoffman, Jonathan Lovett, and Matteo Cittadino, who finished 19th, 27th, and 31st, respectively.
Hoffman started the event with one of the top single game scores of the entire tournament – 277 – to eventually total 1,240 for the tournament. Lovett and Cittadino were more consistent throughout with most of their games in the 180-230 range.
Those three helped guide Pikeville to the seventh-place spot after the first day of competition.
UPIKE slowly crept up through the baker play part of the competition the next day jumping up to sixth after the second of four blocks.
The Bears kept knocking on the door of the top five but couldn't crack into the spot by the end of the event.
UPIKE's JV squad finished in third in their division at the event. Ryan Hernandez (25th overall, 1,224 pins) and Marchello Carrossellia (29th overall, 1,201 pins) led the Bears in the JV division.

UPIKE has one more tournament before going into postseason play and it's one of the biggest in the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis next weekend.
