ADDISON, Ill. – The University of Pikeville bowling teams spent the weekend in the shadows of Chicago competing in the Kegel ISBPA Collegiate Classic Presented by Hammer, a Tier I tournament.
The women's team finished eighth in a field of 55 teams while the men were 15
th out of 68 varsity teams.
The women's bowling team was one of five Mid-South Conference schools in the event. After UPike, Cumberland (Tenn.) University came in 11
th. On the men's side, the Bears were also the top MSC finisher, with Midway University placing 19
th.
Senior
Brianna Rogers led the women's squad, finishing tied for 21
st out of 366 women's bowlers. She averaged 201.8. Her best performance came in the second game when she rolled a 247.
Sophomore Katelyn Peck was tied for 54
th, averaging 190 for the weekend.
UPike's men were led by junior
Josh Maslanich, who averaged 218.4 to place 28
th out of 473 individuals. Sophomore
Ethan Ackermann wrapped up his five games with an average of 210.4.

Andrew Robitaille averaged 200.8.
The bowling teams are scheduled to be back in action this weekend, competing in the MSC Lynne Jordan tournament on Saturday and the MSC Thomas Burris event on Sunday. Both are scheduled to be held in Louisville.
