UPIKE's Mandy Stacy Receives MSC All-Faculty Team Award

Pikeville, KY – Student Success Advisor Mandy Stacy has been named the MSC Faculty/Staff Representative for UPIKE Athletics. The beloved student advocate earns the well-deserved distinction and joins a list of esteemed professionals from across the conference in a release put out by conference officials on Wednesday.

A graduate of Pikeville College/UPIKE, Stacy has made her mark on the university in many ways. Beginning as an admissions counselor, the 13-year UPIKE staffer is a founding member of the Center for Student Success which provides resources for all UPIKE students. Her positive impact on the university as a whole is echoed in the words of her colleagues.

"Having known Mandy for a decade across several roles, I can say with complete confidence that UPIKE would not be the same without her," said Director of the Center for Student Success Megan Childress. "While she does a phenomenal job as a professional academic advisor, she is much more for many students, faculty, staff, and alumni." Childress goes on to say, "She is our biggest cheerleader and prayer leader, and has been patient and steady through some of the most difficult times in our student's lives."

Stacy is a vital part of the bridge between athletics and academics at the University of Pikeville, tirelessly supporting student-athletes, and providing solutions for UPIKE students in need across the board. Beginning in 2008, Stacy has built a rapport across the campus community thanks to her commitment to students, and institution.

Along with her many contributions to the Center for Student Success, Stacy is also a founding member of What's Up Wednesday. The program, in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities provides home-cooked meals to UPIKE students in a comfortable and encouraging environment. What's Up Wednesday provides an opportunity for students to connect with peers and discuss challenges surrounding the college experience.

"Mandy is an indispensable part of what we do," Dr. Mathys Meyer, Dean of Student Success says, "Quick with a smile, encouragement, or a note from her blessing jar – she truly embodies what it means to be a student advocate and consummate professional. This recognition is long time coming and well deserved."

When UPIKE Athletics are in season, you can count on finding her in the stands, cheering on the student athletes. Oftentimes Stacy will be found amongst students at campus events, serving food and radiating the positivity that has earned her such a admiration among the UPIKE community.
