Williamsburg, KY – UPIKE men's soccer fell to University of the Cumberlands on the road Tuesday night by a final score of 4-0.
Jalen Smith was once again a stand-out performer for UPIKE, recording eight saves and holding the Patriots to four goals despite firing 13 shots on goal.
The Bears shot six times but were unable to place one on goal, taking a pair of shots in the first half and firing four shots in the second.
Javier Pozas led the Bears in the attacking with a pair of shots coming off the bench.

Fernando Proano all recorded a single shot in the contest.
The Patriots got on the board in the 21st minute on a penalty kick goal by Rodrigo Riveros and struck again 12 minutes later to go up 2-0. Despite a heavy offensive attack from the Patriots towards the end of the first half, the Bears defense held and went into halftime down 2-0.
The Bears started the second half with a pair of shots and a corner kick opportunity before Cumberlands took over on the attack and fired their third goal in the 52nd minute. The final goal for the Patriots game in the 62nd minute on a goal by Rodrigo Riveros.
In the 64th minute,
Javier Pozas fired an excellent shot that just missed off the post. Cumberlands was resilient but the Bears returned fire and in the 76th minute Cales took a chance that was blocked by the Cumberlands defense.
