Marietta, GA – Men's soccer traveled south on Friday afternoon for a midday match with MSC foe Life University in what would result in a 5-0 shutout for the Bears. The loss drops the Bears to 1-10 (1-7 MSC), while the Running Eagles improve to 5-5-1 (3-3-1 MSC).
The Running Eagles fired 17 shots in the first half alone and would total 30 in the contest with 16 going on goal. UPIKE managed eight shots, three on-goal.
Jalen Smith had his third best outing of the season with 11 saves, finishing with a 67% save percentage.
Favio Govea was the offensive stand-out for the Bears, sending four shots including one shot on goal.
Anthony Aguilar and
Nikolay Nikolov also recorded a shot on goal in the contest.
The Bears are back in Pikeville for their next matchup with the Wildcats of Bethel University which is slated for Thursday, October 21
st at 6:30 PM.
