Bears Receive Votes In Second Straight Coaches' Poll

Kansas City, MO – The NAIA released their latest Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll Wednesday morning and the Bears were mentioned in their second consecutive poll.

UPIKE received 66 votes, slotting them at 27th in the country, just behind Montana Tech in receiving the most votes without being ranked. They were one of three Mid-South Conference schools to be mentioned, as Thomas More (13) and Georgetown (21) were both ranked.

The Bears are 10-1 this season and 3-1 in the MSC, tying them for second in the conference with Freed-Hardeman and Tennessee Southern. This is the first time UPIKE has been mentioned in consecutive polls since they were ranked or receiving votes in every poll during the 2019-20 season.

They return to MSC action tomorrow night at Shawnee State, taking on the Bears at 8:00 p.m. in Portsmouth, Ohio. Shawnee State just dropped out of the rankings today after being ranked No. 16 in the last poll.

On Saturday at the Appalachian Wireless Arena, UPIKE faces one of their toughest tests so far this season when they host the conference leading No. 13 ranked Thomas More Saints at 2:00 p.m.
