Las Vegas, NV – The four-day tournament stretch came to a close Tuesday afternoon as UPIKE men's bowling wrapped up the final rounds of the Collegiate Shootout. The Bears managed another top five finish, placing fourth in points out of 42 teams.

The Bears totaled 9507 pins, just six pins short of third place St. Francis. Breaking 1,000 pins in each team game with their highest pinfall being 1113 in game two.

After capturing the title of the Glenn Carlson Invitational over the weekend, the Bears went right back to work for the Collegiate Shootout which featured six team games followed by eight sets of two baker games. The tournament wrapped up with a semifinal and final championship consisting of more quad baker games.

Through three team games it was clear the Bears had kept the foot on the gas as they sat in second behind Webber International, poised to take the lead. They did just that through the next set of team games, climbing to the top spot with a four-pinadvantage over Webber.

Tuesday morning began bright and early as the Bears played eight baker game sets, or 16 total games. The games were blocked into fours and the Bears recorded scores of 760, 775, 850, 767, earning them the fourth seed heading into semifinal play. The Bears fell in the semifinals, dropping from the tournament.

Individually the Bears placed two in the top ten, led by Bryce Oliver who finished with 1348 pins, averaging 224.7 per game. Oliver bowled a 256 in game six, his best game of the tournament. Ryan Taylor finished ninth overall, totaling 1339 pins including a tournament team high 276 in game two.
