Green and Spencer Claim All-MSC Awards

Bowling Green, KY – Ahead of their MSC Quarterfinal matchup with Georgetown this weekend, Malcolm Green and Korbin Spencer of UPIKE men's basketball snagged All-MSC Second Team honors, announced by conference officials on Friday morning.

Malcolm Green was a newcomer in the 2020-21 season, but his impact on the team can't be overlooked. The South Carolina native leads the Bears in scoring with 313 points, averaging 14.2 a game after 22 played. A dynamic guard, Green has proven his playmaking ability and endurance countless times this season, leading the team also in minutes with 32 a game. Green has scored in double digits in 18 games so far this season, scoring a season-high 26 points in the Bears bounce-back win over Life University on January 21st. The guard is shooting 57% from the floor this season, leads the team in assists with 65 is third on the team with 104 rebounds.

Sharpshooting sophomore Korbin Spencer was also voted All-MSC Second Team in his first season with the Bears. The Kentucky native has dropped 272 points this season in 19 games played, almost 100 more than he put up in his freshman campaign. Spencer is averaging 14.3 points a game with a field goal percentage of 43.4% and has splashed 33 three pointers, good for second on the team. Defensively, Spencer has wreaked havoc on the rythym of opposing offenses with his ability to force turnovers. With 28 steals, Spencer easily leads the Bears. Spencer's best performance of the season came on January 23rd against Martin Methodist where he dropped a season high 21 points, also nabbing a season-high eight rebounds while shooting 58% from the field.

The Bears are primed for Sunday's quarterfinal matchup with Georgetown in MSC tournament action. Tip-off between the Bears and Tigers is slated for 6PM (ET) in Bowling Green, KY.
