Bowling Green, KY – UPIKE football sophomore
Jayden Neace has been named MSC Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the week, conference officials announced Monday. The award is the first of the running backs' career after rushing for 119 yards and two TDs in Friday's win over (25) Bethel.
Neace has stepped up in a big way for the Bears in the last two contests. His first start came in UPIKE's game against Cumberland two weeks ago where he showcased his elite ground game, totaling 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns. After his breakout performance against the Phoenix, Neace got the start Friday against Bethel and aided the Bears in what would be a season-high rushing effort for the upset victory.
A Hazard, KY native, Neace is averaging 55 yards per game and 5.5 yards per carry and has four rushing touchdowns on the season.
Neace and the Bears look to build on the momentum as they head to Williamsburg on Friday, April 2
nd to take on University of the Cumberlands. UPIKE football is looking to extend the win streak to four against the Patriots, with kick-off slated for 6PM.
