Bowling Green, KY – Four members of UPIKE football have been named to the All-MSC Bluegrass Teams, announced conference officials on Thursday.
Jalen Stone and
Christopher Dublin made the first-team list while
Trevaughn Barnett earned a second team nod, Dublin was also named to the second-team for his secondary duty as a return specialist.
A total of 29 players from MSC Bluegrass institutions received first-team nods and 28 more were named to the second team.
A five-year member of UPIKE football, offensive lineman
Jalen Stone led the front that aided the Bears' primary weapon in 2021 – the ground attack. The Bears' rushing attack averaged 184.9 yards per contest and scored 19 total touchdowns. The award the second for the Shelbyville, KY native, also claiming a All-MSC First Team nod following the 2019 season.
Defensive back and kickoff return specialist
Christopher Dublin made a pair of appearences on this year's awards list. His first-team selection as a defensive back comes well-warranted after a season that saw the senior lead the Bears in total tackles (37), solo tackles (21), and interceptions (4). The Rome, GA native also had the third most picks in the conference in 2021. Dublin was also mentioned on the second-team list as a kick-returner, totaling 212 yards on seven returns averaging over 30 yards which was among the top five in the MSC, also adding a 92 yard touchdown return on the opening kick-off against Campbellsville.
Sophmore linebacker
Trevaughn Barnett notched his first career MSC honor, earning a spot on the second team. Barnett managed 14 tackles including a season high five tackles in UPIKE's win over Cumberland in March. The Johns Creek native also recorded a sack against the Phoenix.
