Kansas City, MO – On Wednesday afternoon, the NAIA announced their NAIA Scholar-Teams and NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2020-21 season. Pikeville was second in the Mid-South Conference with 20 scholar teams while boasting 77 scholar-athletes.
To be considered an NAIA Scholar-Team, the team must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average as defined by the institution. To be considered an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, an athlete must have maintained a 3.5 GPA and be at least a junior academically.
The NAIA Scholar-Teams for UPIKE were Women's Soccer (eight athletes), Women's Basketball (seven), Women's Golf (two), Men's Golf (one), Women's Tennis (two), Outdoor Men's Track & Field (six), Women's Bowling (four), Cheer (six), Softball (eight), Men's Basketball (seven), Men's Swimming, Men's Bowling (two), Dance (two), Women's Volleyball (two), Men's Cross Country (two), Men's Soccer (three), Baseball (seven), Men's Tennis (one), Football (five), and Outdoor Women's Track & Field (one).
