Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced their indoor track and field athletes of the week Monday afternoon, and UPIKE's
Noah Thomas was honored as the Field Athlete of the Week. This is the second time he has been honored this season and the second time in his career.
The Bears competed in the Pioneer Open on Friday afternoon at NCAA DIII Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Thomas competed in both the Shot Put and Weight Throw events. In the shot put, he destroyed his previous best of 13.50m with a mark of 14.03m to win the event and set a new school record in the process. In the weight throw, Thomas finished in second with a toss of 14.67m. Overall, he scored 18 points for UPIKE.
Thomas will look to continue his great indoor season when the Bears compete at the Kentucky College Invitational on January 22nd.
