Portsmouth, Ohio - The UPIKE men's and women's swim teams headed north this weekend for their second meet of the year to take on Shawnee State and Midway University. 

Men's Team:

Bryce Barton and Evan Vanlierop competed in the 100 meter backstroke and finished 1:19 and 1:33, respectively. Barton finished 3:08 in the 200 meter. Isaiah Juneau finished 1:26 in the 100 meter breaststroke and 30.02 in the 50 meter freestyle. In the 100 meter freestyle, Barton finished 1:07, Juneau finished 1:10 and Vanlierop was 1:27. In head-to-head to matchups against Shawnee and Midway, the Bears were defeated 81-4 and 51-19, respectively. 

Women's Team:

Madelyn Smith competed in the 100 Meter Breaststroke and finished 1:36. Smith finished with a 34.54 in the 50 meter freestyle and 6:11 in the 400 meter freestyle. UPIKE was defeated 95-4 by Shawnee and 76-0 by Midway University in head-to-head matchups. 
 

The Bears will head back up to Portsmouth on December 10th for their next meet.
