UPIKE Knocks Off UC in Fourth Straight Win

Williamsburg, KY - Women's basketball won their fourth straight Thursday afternoon, trumping University of the Cumberlands 82-73. The Bears improve to 14-10 (8-9 MSC) on the season with the road win.

Sierra Feltner continued her hot streak, leading the Bears with 23 points. The Williamsburg native shot 50% from the field and splashed four of five from deep, also adding four assists, two steals, and a rebound. Morgan Stamper wrapped up her 16th double-double effort of the season with 13 points, 13 rebounds.

The Bears continued a positive trend upward in terms of shooting efficiency, hitting a 52.6% clip from the floor. UPIKE capitalized from the charity stripe, flushing 13-16 free throws.

The Patriots took the upper hand in the first quarter, outscoring the Bears 19-18 thanks in part to nine points from the free-throw line. UPIKE fired back in the second, shooting 70% from the floor led by Feltner who exploded for 18 points.

The Bears kept up the momentum in the third, outscoring the Patriots 17-11, led by LeeAnna McNulty who went three for three and dropped six points. UC fought back in the fourth but the Bears held their lead out to take the win.

UPIKE women's basketball returns to action this Thursday, February 10th at home against Lindsey Wilson College.
