Kennesaw, GA – USA Archery released the results from Indoor Nationals (February 11-13) on Monday morning, revealing four podium finishes for the Bears. UPIKE's stellar performance in the event saw the team break 12 program records.
Ally Collinsworth accounted for two of the four podium finishes, earning bronze in the Women's Barebow – Collegiate as well as the Women's Barebow – Under 21. Collinsworth hit a new program record in the event, scoring 921 out of 1200 which bested her previous mark by one.
Anna Scarbrough landed third in the Women's Compound – Collegiate, scoring 1151. The category featured 77 people, including teammate
Olivia Hay who finished seventh.
Sophia Hunziger nabbed third in the Women's Fixed Pins (Bowhunter) – Under 21, nothing a score of 1150. Also placing in the event was
Brooke Fannin (9
th),
Kynsley Redmon (11
th),
Emily Dendinger (20
th), and Natalie Holton (26
th).
Kirklin Newsome accumulated three school records throughout the competition with his best finish coming in the Fixed Pin where he finished fourth of 80 people with a 1189.
Matthew Russell also achieved three new program records in the men's compound, finishing 11
th out of 74.
Bella Barett had three school records as well in the women's recurve, including a 1087 out of 1200 which bested the previous mark by 160 points.
AJ Clements landed a pair of program records in the Men's Recurve, breaking his own record with a 567 out of 600 (broke by 5) and then a 1108 out of 1200 (broke by 16).
Bears archery returns to action on Wednesday, April 13
th for the USA Archery Outdoor Regionals. The event is held in Williamsburg, Ky. and will run through Friday, April 15
th.
