Emory, VA – Bears baseball claimed the season sweep of Emory & Henry Wednesday afternoon with 7-2 win over the Wasps.

The Bears have won six out of their last ten contests, improving to 14-19 overall with a 4-7 mark in conference play.

Five Bears finished with a pair of hits as the Bears totaled 12 in the game. The offensive attack was led by Jared Kirkman who went 2-4 with three RBIs, two coming on a homer to left field which is his third of the season. Noah Helton made it 10 straight games with a hit, going .500 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Tyler Freas now holds the team lead in hits with 44 following Wednesday's 2-5 outing which included a double to open the game.

Ryan Ratliff became the first Bear this season to go a full nine innings, pitching an impressive seven-hit ball game only allowing two runs. The sophomore improves his mark to 3-3 on the season.

The Bears got hot quickly as Freas was scored by Helton in the first inning, adding another run in the second. Sartin singled to third to open frame and later scored on an RBI poke from Kirkman.
