Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced their Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon and for the third week in a row, Bears sophomore
Noah Thomas was honored. This is his fifth athlete of the week honor this year, including the indoor season.
At the Landon Bond Invitational in Berea, Kentucky hosted by Berea College on Saturday, Thomas had a great day. He won both the hammer and javelin throws. This is the second time during the outdoor season that he won the hammer throw. He posted a mark of 49.19m in the hammer to beat 15 other competitors.
He competed for the first time this season in the javelin throw, and just the second time in his collegiate career. Thomas set a new personal best with a throw of 47.17m to win the event by nearly three meters. This is the first time he won the event in his collegiate career.
The track & field team returns to action this weekend when they travel to University of the Cumberlands for the Pepsi Cumberlands Invitational and Distance Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
