Gulf Shores, AL – For the second season in a row, Bears sophomore Noah Thomas qualified for the 2022 NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Alabama in the discus throw. Last spring, Thomas had a toss of 44.97m at nationals, where he finished 19th.

This is his third time heading to nationals after becoming the first Bear in program history to go to the Indoor National Championships this year, competing in the weight throw. He was also named Mid-South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year after his performance at the MSC Outdoor Championships at the beginning of May.

His qualifying mark of 47.69m, which is a personal best, was posted at the Montreat College Invitational in March. The mark came on his second to last throw of the event.
