Colorado Springs, CO – USA Archery announced the 2022 Collegiate Archery Program All-American Academic Team Thursday, featuring eight UPIKE archers. The list honored 77 total student-athletes nationwide from across all divisions of collegiate play.
In order to be considered for the distinction, archers must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 through the fall term 2021.USA Archery then takes the top 25% (ranked by score) of each division and class from indoor nationals to be named All-American Academic.
In the recurve,
Bella Barrett was named one of 18 female archers to claim the award. The honor is the first of her career and follows a record-breaking season.
The Bears had two claim Academic All-American honors in
Anna Scarbrough and
Alyssa Tenney. Scarbrough, a junior, claims the honor for the second straight season.
Allison Collinsworth and
Kay Falter claimed the distinction in the barebow division. Both archers achieve Academic All-American status for the first time.
In fixed pins,
Kirklin Newsome represented the senior class. Freshman
Sophia Hunziger and sophomore
Kynsley Redmon also won the award for the first time.
