Women's Golf Releases 2022 Fall Schedule

Pikeville, Ky. – UPIKE women's golf prepares to launch the 2022 fall campaign this weekend in Laconia, Indiana at the Battle at Chariot Run. The Bears look ahead at a schedule complete with six events, including a UPIKE hosted invitational at StoneCrest.

Head Coach Nelson Scott gears up for his 12th season leading the women's golf program. For the first time since 2017, Scott is without NAIA All-American Boo Newsome on the roster. Newsome, who earned five MSC Player of the Week awards a season ago, will join the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant after five seasons in competition.

The opening weekend quickly approaches as the Bears prepare for the Battle at Chariot Run, hosted by Spalding University. The two day event takes place at Chariot Run Golf Club, a sprawling 7,200 yard course which was ranked Indiana's fourth Best Course You Can Play by Golfweek in 2018. Round one begins Saturday, August 27th and will finish on Sunday.

On Monday, September 12th, the Bears head to Lexington for the Asbury Fall Invitational. The two day match is held at Kearney Hills Golf Course boasts a yardage of 7079.

Mark the calendar for the weekend of September 24th, which will see the Bears return to StoneCrest Golf Course for their annual UPIKE Fall Invitational. Perched atop the foothills of Prestonsburg, Ky., StoneCrest spans 700 acres of Southeastern Kentucky landscape. Both the men's and women's program will be hosting the event, with 12 teams slated to compete. The Bears finished fourth overall a season ago, with Newsome claiming the individual crown.

The Bears move quickly to Johnson City, Tenn. For the East Tennessee Collegiate hosted by Milligan University. The event begins on Monday, September 26th and wraps up on Tuesday. Johnson City Country Club has a long history, beginning in 1913. The architect, AW Tillinghast, who developed the existing design has consistently assisted in the designs of top 100 golf courses including Pine Valley.

On Monday, October 3rd, the Bears tee-off at the Music City Invitational in Goodlettsville, TN. The event is hosted by Cumberland University and played at Twelve Stones Golf Club, with 6000 yards of Bermuda grass and Creeping Bentgrass fauna.

The Bears head to Bowling Green, Ky. to wrap up the fall campaign at the MSC Fall Invitational. After finishing 6th of 11 teams a season ago, the Bears look to climb the leaderboard amongst a talented conference lineup. Bowling Green Country Club will play host to the 54-hole competition.
