Lexington, Ky. - The UPIKE Women's Golf team traveled to Lexington for the Asbury Fall Invitational at Kearney Hills Golf Course this weekend. The Bears finished second out of seven teams and had two players receive all-tournament honors.
In the three tournaments UPIKE has participated in this season, the Bears have finished first twice and second once.
For the third consecutive tournament, at least two Bears finished with all-tournament honors. The Bears were led by freshmen standouts Renee Crooks and Carly Crooks, who placed second and third, respectively. Renee Crooks and Carly Crooks have received all-tournament honors in every tournament thus far.
Renee Crooks birdied twice on day 2 and finished even on the back nine. Her birdies were on 320 and 278-yard par 4's.
On day 2, Carly Crooks birdied on the 14th hole and parred on the final four holes. Her strong play down the stretch was huge and allowed her to finish in third place by just one stroke.
The Bears will be back on their home course next weekend for the UPIKE Fall Invitational at StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg.
